NCSD Half Truth #10: "it will only cost $8 more per month" a Third look

NCSD often makes statements like "it will only cost $8 more per month"

This is not true estimates are it will be $32-$52 bi-monthly per NCSD bill.

The News reported “The average increase in a NCSD customer’s monthly bill was previously estimated at about $12, but LeBrun said that number likely will be closer to $8.” SMT 12/18/2011

NCSD has been unwilling to provide the water rates calculation of an increase of $8 per month for NCSD’s area that the news reported. NCSD letter 11/13/11 and NCSD letter 11/14/11

NCSD has not provided a current estimate of the cost of other area water rate increases.

NCSD's own estimate in 2008 was $33.33 to $54.54 per month for the water costs and O&M costs

The price of water was estimated at $1,350 per acre foot at the time ($1,350 = $225,000*12 per year / 2000 AF)

x

Now water is estimate has gone up to $1,450 per acre foot, see Lebrun's $1450, water costs, 8/23/11 NCSD presentation.

so optimistically

[((2000 AF * $1,450) * NCSD's share 67% ) /12 months ] / 4500 meters = $36.50

so pessimistically

[((2500 AF * $1,450) * NCSD's share 80% ) /12 months ] / 4100 meters = $58.94

or really pessimistically if the NMMA TG requires the full 3000 AF per year

[((3000 AF * $1,450) * NCSD's share 80% ) /12 months ] / 4100 meters = $64.44

So how can NCSD now claim the cost dropped from $33.00 to $8.00 per month?
